Fox Friends, Freddie and Francie, share the same adventurous spirit as the author, Carol Steffen. “My inspiration for these stories comes from growing up in the Pacific Northwest. As a youth I spent most summers hiking and enjoying the great outdoors. It was fun getting acquainted with the animals living there in the forests," Carol explains. The author now lives in the Los Angeles area close to the Santa Monica Mountains. She continues to love walking the trails above her home where deer, coyotes, rabbits, and other creatures live and play! “The world is full of natural beauty and amazing wildlife. It’s free and invigorating. Take it in!”
Besides being a first time children's story author, Carol is also a first time illustrator! "Drawing characters and scenes for these stories has been an exploration of my own. Most of my career involved working with numbers. Cartooning Fox Friends Adventures allowed me to do something completely different, giving me a chance to exercise creativity and use my imagination. My adventure down Treasure Trail has been challenging and rewarding!" says Carol.
